RULES AND GUIDELINE
11U YR OLD O-ZONE, 9U YR OLD
6U T-BALL, 6U AND 7U COACH PITCH

TEAM REQUIREMENT

1. Team rosters shall be 11 or 12 players in the 11U and 9U age divisions. All players listed on the team’s tournament roster must fulfill all offensive and defensive participation requirements.

2. Team rosters shall be 11 or 12 players for 6U T-ball, 6U Coach Pitch and 7U Coach Pitch. All players listed on the team’s tournament roster must fulfill all offensive and defensive participation requirements.

3. A player who does not play on Sunday for religious reason will be excused.

4. Each team shall have a manager and two coaches for the 11u and 9u teams.

    Each team shall have a manager and three coaches for the 6U T-Ball and 6U & 7U Coach Pitch teams.

DRESS CODE:

1. All players shall be dressed alike in a complete uniform and the DYB patch that must be worn on the left sleeve. Shirt tails must be tucked in at all times. Recommended is that the uniform worn at the state tournament, new uniforms are not required.

2. Coaches may wear uniforms identical to the players.

     Optional Shirts/Pants/Shorts for Coaches:

    Shirts:

    1. All coaches may wear uniform shirts identical to the players with the DYB patch worn on the left sleeve.

    2. All coaches may wear polo shirts or sport shirts only if they are identical in style and color. Shirt tails must be tucked in at all times. These type shirts may have the name of their team on the front but no other lettering is allowed. The DYB patch must be worn on the left sleeve of all shirts.

   Pants or Shorts:

   1. All coaches may wear long pants (Docker style, plain or pleated) identical in style and color. All shorts shall be approximately knee length.

       Cargo pants, coaching pants or blue jeans/denims of any color shall not be worn.

2. All coaches may wear shorts of the same color (Docker style, plain or pleated).

       Cargo shorts, blue jean/denim shorts or any other kind of shorts shall not be worn.

Note: All coaches preferably will be dressed identically. The Tournament Director shall make the final decision on compliance with this requirement.

  Caps:

  Caps matching the team caps shall be worn by all coaches. 

  No coach will be allowed on the field without a cap.

 Shoes:

 Shoes shall be a coach’s style shoe, tennis shoe, athletic shoe, leather closed shoe, etc.

 Coaches shall not wear boots, sandals, flip flops, crocs or any shoe, which in the opinion of the Tournament Director is not appropriate for the playing field.

NO EXCEPTIONS TO THE DRESS CODE

Penalty: Any coach not dressed in the manner outlined in this dress code will not be allowed on the playing field before or during the game and shall be confined to the dugout. If not discovered until after

the game begins, a coach will be removed from the playing field for the remainder of the game.

TOURNAMENT RULES:

The DYB Official Rule Book will be used with the exception of these following rules.

Player Participation Requirement:

1. Continuous batting order rule shall be used in 6U T Ball, 6U Coach Pitch, and 7U Coach Pitch, 9U and 11U.

2. Each player shall play a minimum of two innings (6 defensive outs); if it is complete ball game.

     Coaches are urged to play all players as much as possible. Penalty will be removal of the team manager for the next game. All defensive substitutions shall be reported to the press box before a new inning begins.

3. Free substitution on defense. Any player may enter the game on defense as many times as deemed necessary by the team manager. Players may enter the game at the beginning of an inning only, unless it is for an injured or sick player.

4. All pitching changes must be reported to the press box.

Game Playing Rules:

1. The 11U games in pool play shall be 6 innings or a one hour and fifteen-minute time limit.

2. The 9U games in pool play shall be 5 innings or a one hour and fifteen-minute time limit.

3. The 7U Coach Pitch games in pool play shall be 6 innings or a one-hour time limit.

4. The 6U T-Ball and 6U Coach Pitch games in pool play will be five innings or a one-hour time limit.

5. In all pool play and bracket games; if an inning has started before the time limit expires it shall be completed.

    Games will continue till we have a winner in all games that are tied after the time limit has expired or the inning limit has been played.

6. Bracket games in 11U shall be 6 innings or one hour and thirty-minute time limit.

7. Bracket games in 9U shall be 5 innings or one hour and thirty-minute time limit.

8. Bracket games in 7U Coach shall be 6 innings or one hour and fifteen-minute time limit.

9. Bracket games in 6U T-Ball and 6U Coach Pitch shall be 5 innings or one-hour time limit.

10. There will be no time limit in championship games in each age division.

11. The 15-run rule after 3 innings and the 10-run rule after 4 innings will be in effect in all pool and bracket games. The 15-run rule after three innings will be used as long as all players have completed one time at bat.

12. The seven-run rule per inning will be used in all 6U T-Ball, 6U Coach Pitch and 7U Coach Pitch, in pool or bracket games for the entire game. Once a team is mathematically eliminated the game will be called.

Pitching Rules:

1. In 11U, all pitchers will be required to follow the tournament pitching rules from the rule book using the pitch count and the hours rest period.

2. In 9U, all pitchers will be required to follow the tournament pitching rules from the rule book using the pitch count and hours of rest.

3. Pitchers will be allowed to pitch 40 pitches in the first game and the remainder of pitches in the second game of all

     double header days, however the rest period will begin when the pitcher leaves the mound.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT RULES:

1. Pool play on Thursday and Friday with 2 games being played each day

2. Bracket games will be single elimination and be played on Saturday and Sunday.

3. Teams are guaranteed 5 games.
